Admissions Process

Our admissions process is designed to be simple and supportive, helping you feel confident every step of the way. From your initial enquiry through to your child’s first day, we’re here to guide you and answer any questions you may have.

If you are interested in a place at Cressex Day Nursery, we would love to hear from you. You can contact us by email at office@cressexdaynursery.co.uk or call us on 01494 474844.

When getting in touch, please include your child’s date of birth, your preferred start date, the sessions or days required, and your contact details. This allows us to check availability, answer any questions, and arrange a visit to the nursery.

If you decide that Cressex Day Nursery is the right fit for your family, simply complete a registration form and pay the £100 registration fee. This will secure your child’s place with us.

Healthy Eating

At our nursery, we believe that healthy eating plays an important role in children’s growth, development, and overall wellbeing. All meals and snacks are freshly prepared on site each day, using balanced, nutritious ingredients designed to support active young learners. Our menus are carefully planned to introduce children to a wide variety of flavours and foods, helping to build positive eating habits from an early age. You can find an example of our sample menu here.

We understand that every child is different, which is why we cater for a range of dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences. Our team works closely with families to ensure individual needs are met safely and thoughtfully. Mealtimes are relaxed, social occasions where children are encouraged to try new foods, develop independence, and enjoy eating together in a supportive environment.

Ofsted Report

We are proud to have been rated Good by Ofsted, reflecting the quality of care and early years education we provide. This judgement recognises our commitment to creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive.

Our experienced team works hard to ensure every child is supported as an individual, helping them build confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for the future.

Our Curriculum

We have developed our own in-house curriculum, carefully designed to support each stage of your child’s development. It combines structured learning with play-based experiences, helping children build confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for the future.

This curriculum has been created collaboratively by our experienced team, drawing on the knowledge and expertise of staff across the nursery. By tailoring activities to each child’s needs and interests, we ensure learning is engaging, meaningful, and relevant every day.

Parent Partnership

At Cressex Day Nursery, strong partnerships with parents are central to everything we do, and we see ourselves as an extension of your family. Below are just a few examples of how we support and build these relationships.

Parents Evenings

We host parents’ evenings twice a year, featuring information hubs on topics like toilet training, milk intake, healthy eating and communication.

Monthly Newsletter

We send a monthly newsletter to keep parents informed about what’s been happening across the nursery.

Pre-School Topics

We invite parents to share their skills and job roles with the children, helping to bring pre-school topics to life through real-world experiences.

School Readiness Night

We host a school readiness evening to support parents with a smooth transition to school, covering key skills, routines, and what to expect.

Tea Parties

We host tea parties and special events to celebrate occasions such as VE Day, bringing children and families together to mark important moments.

Christmas Lights

We host a festive Christmas light switch-on, with carols around the tree and a chance for parents and extended family to come together and celebrate.

Our Policies

Our policies are designed to ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for every child, family, and member of staff. They outline the standards and procedures we follow in our day-to-day practice, helping us maintain high levels of care, safeguarding, and professionalism across the nursery. All policies are regularly reviewed in line with current guidance and best practice, and we encourage parents and carers to read them to better understand how we work in partnership to support children’s wellbeing, learning, and development.
